Recently the Miami Heat went a perfect 40-40 in free throws. This was a record breaking event, beating the previous record of a 39-39 by Utah in 1982. On this shocking Tuesday, Jimmy Butler scored the record breaking free throws. He scored 35 points.
Many players contributed to the Miami Heat’s victory. Max Strus contributed 22 points; while, Victor Oladipo added 19. “It’s just a normal Tuesday night for the Miami Heat,” Spoelstra said. “I think this is when we feel most alive, when everything just happens and when all of our competitive juices get out there. That’s the team we all can relate to. That’s the team I like.”
Butler’s record breaking free throw is a record that will be hard to contest for future NBA players, as the score he just set shocked not only the players, but also the coaches who didn’t expect it.
