Midterm marks are being released at St. Robert, marking a halfway point in the semester. Whether you’re brimming with confidence or bracing for a few surprises, the release of midterm marks is always a significant moment in the academic calendar. As the marks start to appear, remember that these scores are not the final judgment of your abilities. They’re a snapshot of your performance at this moment in time. Whether the results were better than expected or fell short of your goals, there’s always room for growth.
If you’re content with your grades, then that’s great! However, some of us may be disappointed by the numbers on our report card. In our world, we often get wrapped up in the idea that those A’s and B’s are everything, however, remember that there’s so much more to you than that. Grades only show how good you are at one thing during a specific period of time. There are more important things like personal growth, well-being, and the ability to overcome challenges are attributes that are immeasurable by grades. Your life is about the effort that you put into it, not arbitrary numbers. Grades should never come before your mental or physical health. So, when you’re stressing over grades, take a step back. Remember that you are so much more than any score can ever convey.
