As a cancer activist, Terry Fox ran across Canada in order to raise money for cancer research. After an unfortunate ending of his death, his inspiring actions still succeeded in causing a positive and lasting impact on citizens. Every year, we celebrate the Terry Fox run/walk to commemorate Terry Fox and the contributions he had made. We take a time to appreciate his effort and achievement in creating a better society.

This year, the school had to adapt to the COVID-19 situation. However, we still managed to do a great job! On October 21 and 22, students walked around the neighbourhood beside the school, and signs were held up. These signs had names of different cities in Canada, and referred to the various places Fox was able to reach. The grade 9 and 10 students went on the 21st, while the grade 11 and 12 students walked on the 22nd. Some students wrote who they were walking for because it gave them motivation and purpose.

To raise money, individuals donated through a website. We were able to raise a lot which was appreciated. By donating, we supported Terry Fox’s actions and reached closer and closer to his goal! St. Robert Catholic High School’s 2021 Terry Fox Walk was able to remind people and give them the opportunity to observe as well as continue Terry Fox’s dream, as well as their own!
