April is wrapping up with some blasting music and many epic performances with the return of Coachella. Over the course of two consecutive weekends, one of the world’s most famous music festivals has had quite a few pop culture influencers make news headlines. For those of you not as familiar with it, here’s a quick rundown of what Coachella is all about:
- It’s held across two weekends in April
- Music is the root of the festival, but it has expanded into including art installations and has become a fashion hotspot for bohemian-style clothing
- The festival has five main stages: the Coachella Stage, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, Sahara Tent, and the Outdoor Theatre.
This year, Coachella made its mark with over 150 music artists and more than 100,000 audience members. No doubt there are celebrities that attended with names that you’ll definitely recognize such as Dylan O’Brien, Jennie from BLACKPINK, Lili Reinhart, and Timothée Chalamet.
Harry Styles performed as one of the headliners wearing an unforgettable rainbow sequin jumpsuit and had surprise guest Lizzo sing a rendition of One Direction’s infamous single What Makes You Beautiful on the second weekend. The energy was absolutely unmatched. Billie Eilish also made her debut as the youngest headliner in the history of Coachella and she certainly got the crowd cheering extra loud as they sang along.
For those who follow K-pop, iconic girl group 2NE1 reunited onstage and sang their hearts out with so much passion that member Dara even lost her shoe amidst the craziness. The stage saw performances by the new, young blood, girl group Aespa when they took Coachella to the Next Level.
There are so many more special moments to be read about this year’s Coachella, but to sum it up, Coachella has certainly ended off with a bang with moments that will be remembered for a very long time. It is safe to say that a two-year hiatus has not affected the high profile of Coachella.
