The Passing of Chadwick Boseman

After suffering a four year long silent battle against colon cancer, the 43 year old actor, Chadwick Boseman, passed away on August 28, 2020 in the sight of family. Throughout his fight, Boseman persevered and over the last four years of his life grew to be one of the most influential actors in Hollywood. 

Boseman’s success sprouted relatively late for an actor when he appeared as Jackie Robinson in the movie ‘42’ at the age of 35. However, he made up for lost time by starring in a string of successful films such as Marshal and in his most notable role as T’Challa in the Oscar winning film Black Panther

With his great successes, Boseman never lost sight of the real purpose in the acting art form. The greatest impact Boseman made was on children all over the world and particularly those within the Black community. He introduced the world to a beloved character and gave us a superhero not only in the movies but off-screen as well. 

Whether you watched him on the big screen, or knew him personally, Boseman brought to life characters that made a lasting impact on numerous lives. It’s worth noting that he did all this while he carried a massive burden upon his shoulders only emphasizing his strength and goodness. His roles were a reflection of the person he really was and the principles and morals that he upheld. Though he will be greatly missed, his life is one worth celebrating and cherishing. His legacy and contribution to the betterment of society will remain for years to come.
