French Council Christmas Cards

On the second last week of the school year before the winter break, St Robert’s French Council organized an event for the holidays. French Council members were stationed outside of the cafeteria for a few days with cards available to purchase.

There were two types of card designs that students could buy. The first was a card with the famous Duolingo owl which had, “Je te chouette un joyeux Noël!” written on it. This translates to I wish you a merry Christmas with a pun using French homophones. The second card has a cartoon narwhal on it which says, “Joyeux Narwhal.”

The French Council had organized this event not only just to get into the holiday spirit, but also to help non-profit organizations. Each card was a dollar and all profits were donated to charity in order to help those who cannot afford enough for Christmas.

In all, the French Council has done an amazing job in collecting money for their donations to charity. Many students purchased cards and were able to happily send them to friends and family. The people who will be benefiting from the donations will be able to provide enough for themselves and will be incredibly grateful to the students who purchased cards.
