University Applications

With another year comes another season of university applications. Join STR students as they set out on the difficult but thrilling route of applying to universities. As people join study groups and frantically fill out forms, an intense sense of drive and ambition permeates the air, weaving a vibrant web of common goals. In order to have a greater understanding of the complex world of college applications, we had the chance to speak with Sam, a university student that went through this life-changing experience. During our discussion, Sam expressed the complex aspects of his adventure by characterizing it as a journey of self-discovery. He underlined how important peer relationships are for students to have as they come together to overcome obstacles and celebrate accomplishments. It became clear as Sam clearly expressed his observations that this is a deep investigation of both academic and personal development rather than just a task to complete.

However, during this stressful period, students have to make sure to calm down, and not suffer the fatal consequences of academic burnout. The application process is not a checklist; it’s a transformative experience. Rather than succumbing to panic, students should view this period as an opportunity for self-reflection. What are their passions? What unique perspectives do they bring? By understanding the narrative they wish to convey, applicants can craft a more authentic and compelling story. Remember that perfection is impossible, and instead of obsessing over flawless applications, students should recognize the beauty in its imperfections. University is part of life, and it will not be the end if something goes wrong.
