In the month of October, the St. Roberts Sr. Girls Basketball game started off with a win, immediately defeating St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School with a score of 50-30. With this win, the team also secured another victory against Richmond Hill High School with a score of 53-46.

However, the team soon had 2 losses, losing the promising winstreak. This didn’t stop the team from winning against Maple High School by a wide margin. Soon, another victory against Thornhill High School was achieved, ending the game with a score of 50-28.

Now approaches the final game of the month, the game between St Roberts and Richmond Green Secondary School. The girls prepare themselves as they march onto the court, preparing to win as they have done many times.

The game starts off with the score being tied constantly. Soon, the opposing team began to take the lead. With smooth shots, the Richmond Greens scored point after point. The home team began to sweat, faces red, as movements soon became very clumsy.

Even with this pressure, it did not stop them from closing the gap. Soon enough, the home team was in the lead with a score of 32-29. This sudden lead caused the opposing team to call a time out. This calculated time out didn’t waver the STR girls as they reentered court.

However, this lead did not make an impact as the aggressive playstyle backfired on the home team. The “slow and steady” shots made by the opposing team soon put them in the lead and stalled for enough time to win the game. The Sr. Girls Basketball Team lost their final match this month, but has made memorable shots and clutches to both the students in St. Robert CHS and Richmond Green High School.
