YCDSB Mental Health session

On March 8th and 9th, the YCDSB Mental Health team hosted a lunch, learn and share session. All students were welcomed to join the meet and listen. Five people, belonging to the mental health team lead the session.

The meeting started with a small discussion. The hosts gave students many resources that they could use if they are in need of help. They showed participants their website and social media platforms. Throughout the meeting, they frequently stopped to take questions and have short discussions. The YCDSB mental health team also gave resources, like articles and books, for parents and the entire family. They talked about how the pandemic has affected all students and how to overcome challenges to stay well. 

The YCDSB mental health session helped students get a better understanding of the support that they have around them. A student that participated in the session said, “It is eye-opening to see that there is so much support out there.” In all, the mental health session was a fun way to teach students about mental health!
